Conducted for HOST by Industrial Hygienists, Allergists and two Universities.
Field test* show HOST cleaning significantly reduces dust mites (-78%) and dust mite allergen (-75%).
University laboratory tests prove HOST is not a find for dust mites (they eat protein - skin scales - and HOST is not protein).
*This research (conducted over a three-year period) has been peer-reviewed and was one of only 500 papers worldwide accepted for presentation at the Sixth International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and the Environment (Helsinki, Finland).
The trace amounts of HOST SPONGES which may be left in the carpet do not have enough "water Activity" to support bacteria or mold (0.35 water activity, even drier than crackers).
HOST cleaning releases only a tiny amount of non-hazardous volatile organic compounds during use. HOST's cleaning formula contains no regulated ingredients. The solvent portion is a very small percent of the total formula.
HOST is far below the OSHA limit.
Tests show barely detectable amounts of respirable dust measured during HOST cleaning. Any cleaning method will register some dust because of the disturbance of the dust in the carpet by the equipment.
